overall scores
In this review, you can find all the information you need to decide whether is the right broker for you. Our expert team has thoroughly explored the broker, using a tested methodology and scoring system. This process places importance on the things we know matter most to traders. Below you can see how scored in each of our high-priority categories.
24option fees and commissions
As you review 24option’s fees, you will notice that the broker charges slightly higher than average spreads on assets. Fortunately, you needn’t pay any commission fees and the non-trading fees are low. For transparency, you can view spreads clearly on the trading platforms, including the broker’s web platform which does not require you to log in. When it comes to additional charges, there is an inactivity fee, but you will not pay any deposit fees.
Our experts have reviewed 24option’s fees based on how they compare with the fees of other reviewed brokers. For each broker, we analyze both trading fees and non-trading fees:
– Trading fees are charged every time you place a trade. They include spreads, commissions, overnight and rollover fees, and currency conversion fees.
– Non-trading fees aren’t directly related to trading, but you should consider them as they make up the cost of using a certain broker. They include payment fees and inactivity fees.
Below you will find a snapshot of the fees charged at 24option. Our experts have created these tables based on the fees applied to a standard account. We consider a standard account to be the one that will appeal to most traders. Often, it is not the cheapest option, but it’s not a premium option either.

- EUR/USD from 2.5 pips
- GBP/USD from 2.8 pips
- USD/JPY from 2.8 pips
- Crude Oil from $0.13
The following are the spreads for Gold accounts:

- EUR/USD from 1.1 pips
- GBP/USD from 1.4 pips
- USD/JPY from 1.4 pips
- Crude Oil from $0.09
You will not find a dedicated page on the 24option website to product specifications. Instead, fees can be viewed on the trading platform, which you can view online without a 24option account. Once you open the software, you can clearly view the relevant information for each instrument, including the bid and ask price, change, and high/low values. Our review team appreciated this, as it means you can accurately work out how much it costs to trade with 24option.
Financing/overnight rates
As with almost all brokers, 24option charges overnight rates in the form of swaps. To view these, you must visit one of the broker’s platforms and view the instrument specifications. As mentioned, you can access this information on the web-based platform without any need to log in.
The following are examples of swap rates for a few instruments:
- EUR/USD: -9.59 EUR long/-2.74 EUR short
- GBP/USD: -7.53 GBP long/-0.68 GBP short
- USD/JPY: -3.01 USD long/-9.86 USD short
- Crude Oil: -5.46 USD long/-1.09 USD short
Non-trading fees
There are no account fees charged by 24option, nor any deposit fees. However, there are charges for withdrawal fees, which vary based on the withdrawal method.
Withdrawal fees are usually around 3.5%, although they may be waived depending on your account type. Basic account holders get a single free withdrawal. Gold account holders get one free withdrawal per month, while Platinum account holders can make three free withdrawals. VIP account holders don’t have to pay withdrawal fees at all.
You should be aware that inactivity fees from 24option can be fairly steep, especially compared to other brokers. After one month of inactivity, there is a monthly fee of 80 EUR. From two to six months of inactivity, this increases to 120 EUR. Accounts that are inactive for six to 12 months must pay a 500 EUR inactivity fee. If your account is not active for more than 12 months, it will be considered dormant. Dormant accounts come with monthly fees of 1,000 EUR, and to reactivate dormant accounts, you must pay 2,000 EUR. Fortunately, if you are an active trader you can avoid these fees by simply placing one trade per month.
24option safety
Our review of 24option provides you with confidence in the forex broker as our experts were impressed with the safety measures. It is regulated by IFSC Belize and holds all client funds in segregated accounts. Extra reassurance comes from the fact that 24option has been in business for more than a decade, during which time it has built a strong reputation.
- Regulated by IFSC Belize
- Operates under the Securities and Investment Business Act
- No banking license
- Given up EU licensing
24option licenses and regulation
Our 24option review team found that the broker is sufficiently regulated for international clients. As part of our testing process, we check the authenticity of each license stated on the broker’s website with the respective regulator, to make sure it is active and issue-free. Here’s what we found.
24option currently boasts an international website which is owned by Richfield Capital Limited. This company is regulated by the IFSC of Belize and has license number 60/440/TS/19. The registered office is at No. 5 Cork Street, Belize City, Belize.
24option is also regulated by CySEC (the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission) under CIF number 207/13, yet this license is currently suspended. 24option is currently under investigation after voluntarily abandoning their authorized status in June 2020. At this time, therefore, EU and UK clients cannot register with the brand. It is not clear why they have given up the CIF license and if they will get back.
Is 24option safe?
Our review methodology considers several factors to ensure that all of our recommended brokers are safe and reputable. Alongside the number and strength of licenses, we also consider:
- What protection and/or insurance 24option offers should something go wrong
- 24option’s reputation, history, and management
24option client protection
Unfortunately, 24option does not offer any investor protection compensation schemes. This is not unusual, however, as it is not a requirement to be licensed by IFSC Belize.

Although there is no compensation scheme, 24option does offer several other security measures, including a segregated accounts policy and negative balance protection. When you deposit at 24option, your funds are held in separate accounts to the broker’s operational funds. This makes them inaccessible to the broker in the rare case of insolvency.
24option background and reputation
If you review the 24option broker’s history, you will find that it has been in business since 2009. This gives the broker more than a decade of experience and has given it plenty of time to build a strong reputation and prove itself. Additionally, this decade of experience has exposed 24option to varying economic circumstances, all of which it overcame.
For additional reassurance, 24option uses various anti-fraud measures, including Thawte and ClickSSL. 24option additionally displays the 3Dv2 and DigiSigner logos on its website.
24option is managed under two company names; Rodeler Ltd and Richfield Capital Ltd. You should be aware that Rodeler Ltd. received fines from CySEC in 2016. In 2020, they relinquished their EU licensing.
Opening an account with 24option
Our 24option forex broker review team found that it is very straightforward to create an account with this broker. The process is all online and can be done from both mobile and desktop. Registering can be completed within minutes, although verification may take up to three business days. The minimum deposit with 24option is also accessible at just $250 for the Basic account. Some brokers have lower minimum deposits, but this should still be accessible for most traders.
Is 24option available in your country?
24option is available in most countries around the world. The broker does not, however, accept clients from certain regions, including the United States and British Columbia in Canada.
It is also important to note that when you want to open an account with 24option, you must do so via the appropriate website for your region. Visit 24option.com/eu if you are within the European Economic Area and 24option.com/international if you are outside.

What you will need to open an account
To make withdrawals, you will need to become a verified client of 24option. This requires you to submit certain information and documentation. To make registration easy, our 24option broker review team suggests you have the following information and documents on hand:
- Personal information – Your full name, email address, phone number, and address. You will also typically have to provide an official identification number, such as a taxpayer ID.
- Regulatory information – You must complete an Assessment of Appropriateness. This is a brief questionnaire that asks about your trading experience and your knowledge of forex and CFDs. The results are used to help accommodate your needs via the 24option platform.
- Documentation – To verify your account, you will need to submit proof of identity, proof of residence, and proof that you control the payment method. Proof of identity can be a passport, driving license, or national ID. Proof of residence can be a bank statement or utility bill. It must be from within the past six months and include your full address and name.
Depending on your chosen payment method, you may also have to submit additional documentation. If you pay with a credit card, you will need to submit images of the front and back, but with the first 12 digits of the card number covered on the front and the CVV code covered on the back. If you pay with a bank transfer or e-wallet, you will need to submit confirmation of your bank transfer deposit or a screenshot of the profile page of your e-wallet account, where it displays your email address, full name, and e-wallet ID.
To open an account with 24option, you’ll need to provide proof of identity and proof of address. This process allows 24option to meet KYC (Know Your Customer) guidelines. KYC guidelines keep you safe and stop the broker from accidentally facilitating illegal practices such as money laundering.
What is the minimum deposit at 24option?
The minimum deposit at 24option depends on your chosen account type. It is just $250 for Basic accounts, which is highly accessible. Other account types have much less accessible deposits, with a minimum of $25,000 for Gold accounts, $100,000 for Platinum, and $250,000 for VIP.
24option payment methods

24option account types
Our 24option forex broker review team is impressed by the fact that the broker offers four different account types. This is more than the average competitor, although all of the account types follow the same execution type, and 24option does not offer an ECN account. The following table outlines the account types at 24option, as well as the major differences between them. The main differences in account types are the spreads, the number of free withdrawals, and access to educational content.

Demo accounts
Our 24option review team strongly encourages you to take advantage of the broker’s demo account, which is available for all clients. Upon registration, your demo account is automatically filled with $100,000 in virtual currency or 100,000 virtual units of your account’s base currency.
The demo account allows you to test your strategies and get used to the trading platforms, in addition to the process of trading CFDs. We strongly encourage beginners to take full advantage of the demo account.
Islamic accounts
24option does offer Islamic accounts, although the broker makes it challenging to find additional information. Our review team can assure you that you can have an Islamic account with 24option, but that you will need to open an account and then contact the broker.
24option trading platforms
At 24option, you can choose from three trading platforms, including a proprietary web-based trading platform and a proprietary mobile application. The broker also offers access to the incredibly popular MetaTrader 4 platform, which is commonly regarded as the industry standard. This should be more than enough variety for most traders, although the most advanced traders may wish for MT5 compatibility.
24option offers three trading platforms. A trading platform is simply a software interface that allows you to place trades. Trading platforms often come with charting, research, and order processing tools.
To ensure that we only recommend high-quality brokers, our reviewers have tried and tested each of 24option’s trading platforms. When doing so, we considered a range of factors, including how easy to use the platforms are, what features each trading platform offers, and how suited each platform is to different types of traders.

24option web platform
Our 24option reviewers appreciated the various features of the broker’s proprietary web platform. The platform is intuitive and is very similar to most other platforms we have used for trading CFDs and forex. The left panel is dedicated to listing the various instruments, which you can filter by instrument type, search for using a search bar, or star to make a list of favorites. This section makes it easy to see the bid, ask, change, and high/low prices at a glance.
Over half of the screen on the right side is dedicated to the graph or the order sheet, which you can toggle between by clicking on the ‘Show Graph’ button. Below this, you will find your trade history.
24option provides all the tools and information that you need. There is a sidebar that indicates trading sentiment for the instrument pair that you are viewing. At the top of the graph, you will see quick options to change the chart type, time frames, zoom, drawing tools, and indicators. These are all adjustable and you can also expand the chart so that it fills the entire page.
Although you cannot trade directly from the graph with the 24option proprietary platform, trading is easy as you simply hide the graph. There, you can select the volume in lots, set an opening point for the trade, select buy or sell, and choose to close at a loss or close at a profit.
24option mobile application
The 24option mobile trading application offers similar features to the proprietary web platform. World Finance named this the Best Mobile Trading App in 2018. It also provides access to the free demo account, support, the education center, the free third-party trading signals package, and more.
You can use the mobile application to place orders, view charts or information, and access the latest market news. You can download this application for both Android and iOS devices, which makes it suitable for most mobile users.
MetaTrader 4
Although our 24option review team found the broker’s proprietary platforms to be impressive, we still strongly encourage you to consider trading via MetaTrader 4. This is because it has the most features. MT4 is available across devices, with downloads available for PC, Mac, iPhone, and Android, as well as a web version.
MetaTrader 4 supports automated trading via the use of expert advisors and trading signals, both of which are incredibly useful tools for CFD and forex traders. MT4 has features, including algorithmic trading and technical analysis, which help it appeal to all experience levels. It also conveniently integrates news and alerts right into the platform.
Trading with MetaTrader 4 with your 24option account also gives you access to a wide range of order types, including stop, pending, and market orders, plus a trailing stop. Technical analysis includes 30 built-in indicators with the ability to add 700 paid indicators or 2,000 free custom indicators. There are also 24 analytical objects, including Fibonacci and Gann tools, plus nine timeframes and access to unlimited charts.
What is the execution policy at 24option?
For transparency, you can view a PDF of the 24option execution policy in detail. To save you time, however, our 24option review team saves you the effort by sharing the important information here. Keep in mind that there may be slight differences in the execution policy based on whether you are in the EU as 24option will be run by either Rodeler Ltd. or Richfield Ltd.
24option is a market maker broker, with no ECN options available. Although this may seem disadvantageous if you are a more advanced trader, it does mean that you won’t have to deal with re-quotes. This is because the broker doesn’t filter trades through a dealing desk and will, therefore, not intervene in any way.
In terms of execution, our 24Option review team found that this broker’s policy is to take all sufficient measures necessary to obtain the best possible outcome for you. As such, 24option accounts for the likelihood of settlement and execution, nature, size, account price, speed, and costs. The broker warns slippage might occur if no liquidity is available at the price you place your order, although they do offer fifth fractional pip pricing to reduce the risk of inaccuracies.
24option markets and products
As you review 24option forex broker markets and products, you will notice that it has a reasonable number of instruments available for trading. While some competitors offer more, 24option’s selection is on the higher side of average. The broker particularly stands out in terms of cryptocurrencies, thanks to dozens of trading pairs that provide numerous ways to invest in this newer asset class.

Commodity CFDs make up a significant portion of the instruments available for trading with 24option. You will find energies and gas, including natural gas, Brent, and crude oil. Precious metals
If you’re interested in trading metals on 24option, you’ll be happy to know that the broker has a better selection than many of its competitors. With about 200 share CFDs available, you can expect to find many of the world’s biggest companies, including Disney, Boeing, and Alibaba. Other shares come from companies based in the United States, Germany, the UK, Spain, Italy, and more.
With CFDs, you can trade stocks with margin and go long or short. This gives you potential profits, regardless of market movements.
Cryptocurrencies
24option has an impressive variety of options when it comes to trading cryptocurrencies. With this broker, you can trade Stellar, Monero, Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin, Ripple, Litecoin, Dashcoin, and Ethereum.
Our forex broker review team was also impressed by the number of pairs for each cryptocurrency. For example, the pairs for Bitcoin include BTC/EUR, BTC/USD, BTCM/USD, BTC/GDP, BTCM/GBP, and BTCM/EUR.
ETFs
The various ETFs available to trade at 24option are equally diverse to the other asset classes. This gives you a great chance to protect your bankroll by diversifying your trades both geographically and through different industries.
Social trading
Although 24option does not offer a social trading platform, elements of copy trading are available. MetaTrader 4, for example, is compatible with expert advisors and trading signals. The proprietary mobile application is also compatible with trading signals. You can use these tools to copy the trades of professionals.
24option research tools
Our 24option review team was impressed with the forex broker’s research tools. No matter your level of skill or preferred method of analysis, you will find a feature that’s designed to help you. Take advantage of market news, access to Trading Central, an economic calendar, sentiment charts incorporated into the trading platforms, and an asset calculator. Compared to similar brokers, the variety of tools at 24option makes this broker stand out from the crowd.

You will also find trading signals incorporated into Trading Central, which is free for all 24option clients.
In terms of indicators, all of the platforms give you access to at least several dozen technical indicators. This allows you to complete your own technical analysis with ease. Trading Central also features technical analysis reports and indicators completed by professionals.
Trade ideas
You can find trade ideas by logging into Trading Central. This is a very useful feature as you can get trade ideas via signals and analysis. You can even sign up for daily SMS; you’ll get two alerts daily on Basic and Gold Accounts, four on Platinum accounts, and seven on VIP accounts. Our 24option reviewers found this tool to be both unique and valuable, as it means you’ll never miss a major market update again.
Expert analysis
Expert analysis at 24option also comes via Trading Central. Take advantage of analysis completed by the senior technical analysts at Trading Central, who all have CMT, MsTA, or STA qualifications. Trading Central has three offices around the world, allowing it to provide 24/7 expert analysis and updates.
24option education and training
24option offers a very good selection of educational materials, including videos on demand, e-book downloads, articles, and more. Keep in mind, however, that not all of the educational resources are available to all clients; webinar and lesson access varies by account type. Overall, when we tested the materials during this review of 24option, we found they were suitable for beginner traders.

24option mobile compatibility
